( – White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre falsely claimed that President Joe Biden has visited the country’s southern border but reporter Peter Doocy of Fox News wasn’t having it, putting her on the defensive over the latest fib from the top spokesperson for what many believe is the most brazenly dishonest administration in the nation’s history.

Following a meeting at the White House on Tuesday, McCarthy told reporters, “I invited the president to go to the border with me.”

“I explained to the president, he asked me about the border, so I told him about my current trip,” he said as he described the situation that he observed during a recent visit to El Paso.

During Wednesday’s daily press briefing, Biden’s press secretary was asked by Doocy whether Biden would consider taking up an offer from Republican Kevin McCarthy, the likely next Speaker of the House in the new GOP majority to accompany him to witness the ongoing illegal immigration disaster first hand, which would be the first trip to the border that he would be making since he took office.

Doocy: “Kevin McCarthy says that he invited president Biden down to the border. How does the president RSVP? We know the president has never been down to the border.”

KJP: “He’s been to the border.”

Doocy: “When did he go to the border?”

KJP: “He is taking action.”

Despite Doocy asking when exactly Biden visited the border, Jean-Pierre ignored the question and instead moved on to attack Republicans for their unwillingness to work with the president.

Biden has not visited the border at all since his presidential term began.

In Oct. 2021, Doocy questioned Psaki on the same subject. At the time, Psaki referenced Biden’s drive past the El Paso border in 2008 while he was campaigning for then-presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Psaki added, “But, the most important thing everyone should know and understand is that the president has worked on these issues throughout his entire career and is well-versed in every aspect of our immigration system, including the border — that includes when he was vice president.”
