(TheConservativeNews.org) – The White House likes to pretend that inflation doesn’t exist or that it’s transitory.
If you’ve gone to the grocery store anytime in the last year, you know that inflation is real and it doesn’t seem to be going away.
Walmart recently announced that they are going to help do something about it.
They are offering Thanksgiving foods at last year’s prices to help ease “the sting of soaring US inflation.”
The lower pricing will help families with their Christmas dinner as well with the price freeze being in effect through December 26th.
Reporter Brooke DiPalma of Yahoo Finance says this year’s Thanksgiving basket will cost us 15% more than last year!
Walmart issued a statement last week which read:
“Saving money is a top priority for our customers right now, so this year, we’re removing inflation on an entire basket containing traditional Thanksgiving items. We made significant investments on top of our everyday low prices so customers can get a traditional Thanksgiving meal at last year’s price at Walmart.”
“After all these years, we know what our customers put into their baskets for Thanksgiving. All the basics are there, like turkey, ham, potatoes, and stuffing, but the convenience items are there too, like ready-to-heat mac and cheese or freshly made pumpkin pie, and we ensured that the price for the same basket of items does not cost more than it did last year.”
“We’re proud to offer customers this year’s Thanksgiving meal at last year’s price so families don’t need to worry about how they’ll set their holiday table.”
“We are currently rolling out the pricing, and customers can take advantage of the savings for all their holiday meals through December 26, 2022.”
Walmart may get a lot of criticism, but this is an example of how the company is doing something to help its core base of customers who are struggling in this economy.
The company was proactive in making sure stores are stocked for the upcoming holidays.
The statement continued, “We’ve been working with suppliers for months to help ensure a strong supply for all the holiday mealtime essentials at Walmart this season, especially for meal heroes like ham and turkey.”

The past couple of years have been tough on everyone, first with Covid-19 lockdowns and then the increase in the cost of just about everything. Americans can appreciate the nation’s largest retailer trying to do their part to help.
