(TheConservativeNews.org) – The holidays are only a few months away, and people will be traveling to visit family. With air travel picking up, masks have become commonplace among airlines. Now, travelers may be looking at a new mandate.
Talks about mandating vaccines for air travelers have been circulating around the web. Dr. Anthony Fauci, White House Chief Medical Advisor and director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), expressed during the “Skimm This” podcast show that he would support required inoculations for flight passengers.
The idea is still on the table according to the White House coronavirus response director, Jeff Zients. Dr. Vivek Murthy, US Surgeon General, believes it’s reasonable to ask passengers to receive vaccinations before flying. However, Dr. Murthy also believes passengers who aren’t inoculated should be able to fly as well, namely in case of emergencies.
The White House hasn’t decided to scrap the idea, which leads people to believe it’s a very real possibility moving forward. President Biden has followed Dr. Fauci’s guidance before. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Biden get behind Fauci’s support and push through yet another mandate.
