(TheConservativeNews.org) – We had a potentially serious situation in Washington DC Wednesday night. The Capitol building was issued evacuation orders. Capitol Police issued the alert. They cited an aircraft intrusion that posed a “probable threat to the Capitol complex.”
Hart, Dirksen, Russell, Cannon, Longworth, and Rayburn offices are included in the evacuation order. The Library of Congress and the Botanic Garden have also been ordered to evacuate their buildings.
However, it was just a false alarm. There was no threat, and the order was issued out of an abundance of caution. The alert was issued over confusion regarding a plane carrying US Army parachutists heading to the Nationals game.
Pelosi blamed the incident on the FAA.
“The Federal Aviation Administration’s apparent failure to notify Capitol Police of the pre-planned flyover Nationals Stadium is outrageous and inexcusable. The unnecessary panic caused by this apparent negligence was particularly harmful for Members, staff and institutional workers still grappling with the trauma of the attack on their workplace on January 6th.
