(TheConservativeNews.org) – Donald Trump’s continued involvement with the GOP over the coming years now appears to be certain. The former president has made a number of contributions to party discourse since leaving office, including speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February. Now, he’s supporting some promising GOP figures.
On Monday, March 15, Conservative Brief released a report on the Republican primary candidates Trump may endorse ahead of congressional elections next year. The article looked at a number of candidates with whom Trump has positive relations, and speculated on the likely impact of his falling out with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
According to Politico Playbook, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has a close relationship with Trump. Graham may attempt to influence the former president to lend his backing to his preferred candidates. Such candidates include Sens. Jerry Moran (KS), John Boozman (AR), and Mike Crapo (ID); he’s already officially endorsed Moran and Boozman.
Whether establishment Republicans want to admit it or not, Donald Trump will have a huge role to play in upcoming elections. Even if he doesn’t run personally, his endorsements will hold massive sway with voters.
