Top 4 Biggest Democrat Blunders of 2020

( – For the last four years, Democrats have never wasted an opportunity to mock Donald Trump and other Republicans for their perceived lack of political smarts. Of course, that “holier-than-thou” attitude begins to look hypocritical when you consider how gaffe-prone they, themselves, can be.

We’ve taken this opportunity to look at four of the biggest Democrat mistakes of the year.

Nancy Pelosi’s Freezer Gaffe

If more evidence was needed of how badly out of touch House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is with the people she represents, this was it. In April, as millions of Americans were coming to terms with the financial implications of lockdowns and movement restrictions, Nancy Pelosi appeared on the Late Late Show with James Corden. In a now-infamous clip, she proceeded to show the audience her giant refrigerator and freezer, the latter fully stocked with expensive ice cream.

“You Ain’t Black”

This was perhaps the most embarrassing blunder in a presidential campaign that was as gaffe-ridden as they come. Near the end of May, in an interview with Charlamagne tha God, Joe Biden came out with the following: “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” Not only was this a slap in the face to America’s black conservatives, it was also an attempt to speak for an entire race to which Biden doesn’t even belong.

AOC’s Economics

For someone with a degree in economics, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) really doesn’t seem to grasp the science of the subject all that well. Her Green New Deal proposal (which Joe Biden publicly rejected during a presidential debate) is fiscally irresponsible to the point of lunacy. However, she offered us a much more straightforward illustration of her ignorance of the topic in February. She referred to the “famed economist Milton Keynes.” No such economist (that we know of) exists; AOC appeared to have mixed up Milton Friedman and John Maynard Keynes.

“You’re a Lying Dog-Faced Pony Soldier”

This Joe Biden quote doesn’t display the racial insensitivity or tone-deafness of the one above. What it does illustrate, however, is his astonishing capacity to put his foot in his mouth. After a young student questioned him about his poor performance in the Iowa caucus during a campaign event in New Hampshire, Biden called her a “lying dog-faced pony soldier.” It’s not clear whether or not he intended the comment as a joke; either way, it’s hardly a turn of phrase a president should use when talking to a voter.

These missteps range from unintentionally hilarious to deeply worrying. What they all have in common is their illustration of the deep vein of incompetence that currently runs through the Democrat party.
