Since Joe Biden landed in the White House, we’ve come to associate his term with radical liberal policies, whether it’s an environmental initiative or an attempt to limit Second Amendment rights. However, state governors can use executive actions, too, and a lot of them have a very different approach than President Biden.
And, of course, border security takes the top spot when it comes to the key matters of 2021. On Wednesday, July 28, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) issued an executive order banning private individuals or groups from providing ground transportation to “migrants… detained by CBP… for crossing the border illegally.” According to a statement from Abbott on the matter, the measure aims to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Texas.
This is the latest in a series of steps Abbott has taken to address the border crisis. As Texas shares over 1,200 miles of border with Mexico, the governor has assumed a mandate to right the Biden administration’s wrongs in this regard. He’s even talking about finishing the Texas section of former President Donald Trump’s border wall project.
Is it any wonder that Trump has already endorsed Gov. Abbott in his bid for reelection in 2022?
