The move has caused immense controversy, prompting liberals to take action. In the end, however, their efforts may only help Governor Greg Abbott.
Based in San Francisco, American company Salesforce is extending a “helping hand” to its employees impacted by the Texas abortion ban. The CEO of Salesforce, Marc Benioff, called the issue personal, citing it especially impacted women. Benioff sent a message through Slack, a business communication program, indicating that the company will help any employee with concerns about their state’s reproductive healthcare.
The effort by Salesforce comes as California Governor Gavin Newsom faces a recall election. Newsom points to Texas and mentions that California would become the same way under Republican leadership. However, as Governor Abbot of Texas and many other Texans claim, people are flooding in from California to get away from high taxes and strict regulations. Abbot credits the policies within Texas for the migration.
People and businesses seeking to escape the California policies and move to Texas could help the state remain red in the future — especially if Salesforce and other companies move their liberal employees out of the state. The question that still remains is whether or not the employees will get a choice to relocate.
