(TheConservativeNews.org) – The New York nursing home scandal is one of the biggest issues to hit the Democratic Party since the onset of COVID-19. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) administration allowed contagious patients to return from hospitals to residential care facilities once their conditions had stabilized, potentially creating thousands of avoidable infections. According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), however, Cuomo and his party were not the only ones at fault.
Speaking on Fox News on Wednesday, August 25, DeSantis questioned why the media didn’t do more to uncover what was going on in New York. He speculated that major media outlets were soft on Cuomo because of his staunch anti-Trump politics. Additionally, DeSantis alleged that media companies had failed to “do their jobs,” resulting in the continuation of bad policies and loss of lives.
Of course, the media’s blind spot didn’t stop with Andrew Cuomo, whose brother Chris is a lead anchor at CNN. As attorney Matthew DePerno points out in the tweet below, Michigan’s Democrat Governor also presided over highly problematic COVID-19 policies while facing little media scrutiny.
Following New York Attorney General Letitia James’ report into allegations of sexual misconduct against Cuomo, he left office without a choice. However, his legal troubles appear to be far from over.
