(TheConservativeNews.org) – Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) reported an update on the seemingly endless crisis at the US Border which has exploded in human suffering under the Democrats.  Boebert posted on Twitter that the U.S.-Mexico border will finally be addressed by the House Oversight Committee in early February, as long anticipated.

Boebert landed a spot on the coveted panel to dig at the Democrats, having been assigned the seat by the McCarthy-led House Steering Committee, which made news this week because it was a positive surprise.

Boebert had strongly opposed McCarthy’s move to be Speaker of the House, and many people anticipated that McCarthy would seek revenge against those who would not support his leadership.

However, as of now, McCarthy has not been revengeful and has placed firebrands in powerful positions to damage Democrats.

The appointment of Boebert to Oversight gives the outspoken Colorado Republican outsized influence on looming investigations into three-letter agencies like the CIA and FBI that McCarthy—whom Boebert vocally opposed for the speaker post—had hinted at in the lead-up to Republicans taking the majority this past November.

Boebert has been assertive in getting the news out about the first acts by the Committee:

“Mark your calendars. The week of Feb 6th. A @GOPoversight hearing on the invasion at our southern border. Time to get to the bottom of this mess. Buckle up!”

The appointment, which Boebert announced in a tweet, serves as more evidence of some last-minute dealmaking between McCarthy and the GOP holdouts in order for him to secure their support.

“We changed the way bills will be passed,” Boebert said in a news release at the time. “We changed the way the government will be funded. We changed the ways committees will be formed. We secured votes on term limits, the fair tax, the Texas Border Plan, and so much more.”
