Police Arrest Suspects in Anti-Semitic Attack

(TheConservativeNews.org) – Incidences of anti-Semitism have regrettably become common over the last couple of weeks in the context of renewed violence between Israel and Palestine. This issue has even found its way to the halls of Congress. Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI) and Ilhan Omar (MN) have both been accused of backing anti-Semitic policies lately. There have also been instances of hate crimes of late.

Joseph Borgen, a 29-year-old Jewish man, suffered a horrendous beating in New York City last week after he found himself caught between rival pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protests. Five men reportedly punched, kicked, and pepper-sprayed Borgen, as well as hit him with crutches.

Luckily, law enforcement has risen to this challenge. On Monday, May 24, the NYPD reported they had arrested a second man, 25-year-old Faisal Elezzi, in connection with the crime. One of his accomplices, Waseem Awawdeh (23), was apprehended shortly after the attack.

Israel and Palestine’s conflict has caused enough tragedy in the Middle East. We don’t need violent, discriminatory incidents like this on American soil as well.
