(TheConservativeNews.org) – Things are quickly going from bad to worse for the Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY). It recently emerged that his administration failed to report thousands of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes. But it gets worse — two of his former aides have come forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct.
Cuomo is facing calls to resign from representatives of both political parties because of the latter issue. On Sunday, February 28, New York State Senator Alessandra Biaggi (D) published the tweet below urging the governor to step down. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) were among those calling for an independent review of the situation.
Cuomo acknowledges he’s made “insensitive” comments to staff in the past, but rejects allegations he engaged in any inappropriate touching. One of his alleged victims, Lindsey Boylan, claims he touched and kissed her without permission.
In any case like this, it’s important to wait for all the facts before passing judgment. However, given the damning nature of these claims and the COVID-19 scandal that’s recently hit Andrew Cuomo’s administration, it appears reasonable to question whether he’ll still run for re-election next November, or if he will even last that long.
