(TheConservativeNews.org) – On Sunday, August 23, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) released newly declassified documents that show how biased and hypocritical the FBI was during the 2016 presidential election. Graham says the government entity demonstrated a complete double standard.
It turns out that the FBI wanted a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant on both the Trump campaign and the Clinton campaign during the election. While they did use the FISA court to spy on Trump, they let Hillary off the hook.
In 2015, the FBI tried to get authorization to track foreign government operatives who were trying to influence Hillary Clinton; however, the agency ended up deciding to give a defensive briefing to her lawyers instead. It certainly didn’t give that same courtesy to Trump.
The documents Graham released are heavily redacted and he didn’t identify which foreign country was trying to influence Hillary. It’s unclear whether members of her campaign knew about the foreign government’s scheme.
It seems the FBI was determined to go after Trump and his campaign. So determined, in fact, it lied on the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page.
The Mueller report eventually proved there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. The FBI never should’ve gotten the FISA warrant to spy on them. If it was a fair and honest organization, it would’ve treated Clinton and Trump the same, especially because they suspected foreign interference in both campaigns. That’s not what happened; instead, it let Clinton off the hook and tried to frame Trump.
