On Monday, April 5, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took aim at the “corporate CEOs of America” in the context of the ongoing debate around Georgia’s new voting law. Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines have both criticized the legislation, claiming it disadvantages minorities. MLB went as far as to pull its 2021 All-Star Game from the state.
Speaking at a Kentucky news conference, McConnell criticized these moves, advising corporate America to “stay out of politics.” He stated large companies would face repercussions if they became a “vehicle for far-Left mobs.”
McConnell reiterated this message via Twitter later on Monday.
Mitch McConnell clearly has a point here. Big corporations are unelected entities; we can’t continue to allow them to shape our political and social discourse.
