(TheConservativeNews.org) – On Monday, August 24, First Lady Melania Trump unveiled a brand new art exhibit called “Building the Movement.” She said the showing is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. The artwork and photographs presented memorialize the women’s suffrage movement.
Melania told reporters in front of the White House that the ratification of the 19th Amendment was an example to the world and a turning point in the American history of women’s rights.
She explained the art exhibit would encourage parents to talk about women’s rights with their children. It’s a platform to initiate conversations about equality. The First Lady hopes it allows young people to learn about the suffrage movement.
Melania went on to say the suffrage movement provided strength and inspiration for all of us. At the same time, the suffragettes ensured all future generations of women and girls will have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
The FLOTUS said the exhibit includes historic photographs and, because the whole project is seen through the lens of the kids, they’re alongside the artwork of children. You can check out the online version of the exhibit here.
