Donald Trump’s turnouts in the last few weeks have been consistently huge, while Joe Biden’s have been pitiful. So pitiful, in fact, they’re barely outnumbering those coming to see third-party candidates speak outside chain restaurants.
On Wednesday, October 28, the Libertarian Party’s vice-presidential candidate, Spike Cohen, addressed an audience outside an Ohio Waffle House. About 60 supporters came to hear what he had to say, and the event drew some media attention.
At a drive-in rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, Biden drew just 130 cars. Barack Obama’s event at Florida International University last weekend had a similarly dismal 400 attendees. These tiny turnouts haven’t gone unnoticed, with many on social media taking the opportunity to poke fun at the Democratic candidate.
Despite the novelty of his recent campaigning efforts, Spike Cohen’s chances of becoming the next vice-president remain extremely remote. However, his events have served to shine a light on just how lackluster the support for Joe Biden’s campaign is.
