(TheConservativeNews.org) – A growing number of President Joe Biden’s picks for administration positions have attracted disapproval from Conservatives. Xavier Becerra, for example, was a controversial choice for the Department of Health and Human Services. As Becerra had filed over 100 lawsuits against the Trump administration, some felt he was too partisan for the position.
Becerra did get in, however; Neera Tanden was not so lucky. Her nomination as head of the Office of Management and Budget failed when it became clear the Senate would not support her.
Kiran Ahuja is the latest nominee to come under conservative scrutiny. On Tuesday, June 22, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) led an attempt to block her nomination as head of the Office of Personnel Management. While this endeavor failed, Hawley still got the opportunity to air his problems with Ahuja as a nominee.
Hawley pointed out Ahuja’s affiliation with proponents of the highly controversial critical race theory. Allowing someone with Ahuja’s views to head up the department, Hawley claimed, could usher in “a new era of racial engineering” in terms of federal government hiring practices.
President Biden has taken full advantage of the strong Democratic position in the Senate by installing several radicals into important positions. Only time will tell how much damage this will cause.
