(TheConservativeNews.org) – Though Joe Biden’s presidency is now all but certain to see out its scheduled four-year term, questions about the ways in which he won the election persist. Lawmakers in many states with strong conservative support bases have been refusing to simply let this go. Arizona is one example of a state that is determined to get to the bottom of what happened in November, 2020.
Maricopa County Ballots
Last week, a judge ruled that the Arizona Senate could access 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County to conduct an audit for election fraud. It was also confirmed that senators would have access to voting machines. County officials initially argued this would be against state law, but an Arizona court decided in favor of the Republican senators pushing for the audit.
Auditors will have to analyze 73 pallets of physical votes to ensure they comply with the proper standards.
Arizona Voter Law Goes Before the US Supreme Court
This is not all. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that two pieces of Arizona voter law would go to the US Supreme Court for consideration.
One relates to the controversial practice of ballot harvesting, which allows unsupervised individuals to collect votes and deliver them to polling centers. Advocates say it increases voter access, but critics point out that it leaves the door open to fraud. The other rule up for consideration bans the casting of votes outside one’s designated precinct.
These practices exist in other states as well, which means the Supreme Court’s ruling on them could have major implications for elections across the nation going forward.
It may be too late to effectively challenge the result of the 2020 presidential election — for better or worse, that outcome now appears set in stone. However, what’s currently happening in Arizona could give rise to a safer and more trustworthy electoral system for years to come.
