(TheConservativeNews.org) – After violating his sworn oath to uphold the Constitution and U.S. laws, Biden official and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been impeached with new articles proposed in the House.
Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted, “Today I am filing impeachment articles against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. I have a congressional responsibility to impeach figures who are in dereliction of their duties and commit crimes. If we don’t impeach him, his attack on this nation will continue.”
Under Trump, Americans saw the lowest rate of illegal immigration in over 40 years.
Under Biden, we have seen the highest rate of illegal immigration over 60 years.
Rep. Biggs said, “Secretary Mayorkas has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of border security and immigration enforcement, at the expense of the Constitution and the security of the United States.”
Biden ended Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy, which forced foreign nationals seeking to enter the U.S. through the southern border — illegally or without proper documentation — to be returned to Mexico. These individuals needed to wait in Mexico while their legal cases are adjudicated.
Biden, on the other hand, opened the floodgates by removing this policy and thereby signaling that illegal immigrant may cross through the border even if it’s illegally and without proper documentation. This border security program under Trump and kept migrants in Mexico as they awaited their hearings.
Rep. Biggs continued, “Secretary Mayorkas has violated, and continues to violate, this oath by failing to maintain operational control of the border and releasing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the interior of the United States.”
“The Secretary of Homeland Security does not have the option of simply releasing those aliens into the interior of the United States,” the articles say.
“The actions of Secretary Mayorkas have made the border less secure and encouraged aliens to enter the United States illegally, instead of taking actions to maintain operational control of the border. His actions have subverted the will of Congress and the core tenants of the Constitution.”
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy backed the articles of the impeachment.
“He cannot and must not remain in that position,” McCarthy responded.
“If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure to determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.”
