DeSantis Made A Big Announcement That Didn’t Go As Planned…

( – On Wednesday afternoon, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis finally officially announced his presidential campaign on Twitter. The announcement was made with the help of Twitter owner Elon Musk, and was moderated by tech entrepreneur David Sacks.

DeSantis covered an array of topics from woke culture, the border crisis, and the lack of leadership under the current president, Joe Biden.

The launch was met with a rocky start with audio problems and multiple site crashes. After some time, DeSantis announced his candidacy, followed by a long scripted speech. The launch was met with mixed reactions.

Former president Trump, DeSantis’ GOP rival, took aim at DeSantis on Truth Social during his launch, saying “Rob,” My Red Button is bigger, better, stronger, and is working (TRUTH!), yours does not! (per my conversation with Kim Jung Un, of North Korea, soon to become my friend!).”

The DeSantis campaign released the launch video in conjunction with the Florida governor’s appearance on Twitter.

In the video, DeSantis points to his record in Florida, emphasizing that “we chose facts over fear, education over indoctrination, law and order over rioting and disorder. We held the line when freedom hung in the balance. We showed that we can — and must — revitalize America. We need the courage to lead and the strength to win.”

DeSantis later appeared on Fox News and told Host Trey Gowdy, “If the sacrifice I have to make as people are going to call me names, that pales into comparison with so many people have done for me throughout history so that I can live in a free country.”
