(TheConservativeNews.org) – Toward the end of March this year, President Joe Biden made the announcement that Vice President Kamala Harris would represent the White House in its efforts to tackle the “challenges” at the border. At the time, Harris was quoted as saying this was “important work” that would “not be easy.” Looking back at it now, in the context of her complete failure to address the situation, that statement could hardly be more ironic.
Harris is under growing scrutiny over this issue, and some Conservatives have had enough. Several senior Republicans have called for Biden to remove the vice president from her role as “border czar.” On Monday, August 2, the former UN Ambassador for the Trump administration, Nikki Haley, posted the below tweet advocating Harris’ replacement.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who’s among the most vocal critics of the Biden administration, has also expressed this view via Twitter. He pointed out that, as well as the crisis of migrant entries itself, there’s also the problem of dangerous illegal drugs like fentanyl coming with them.
The border crisis is already a record-breaker in terms of migrant detentions and apprehensions, and it doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Harris needs to start taking this seriously; if she doesn’t, the political pressure will soon become too great for the Biden administration to withstand.
