(TheConservativeNews.org) – CNN anchor Chris Cuomo had an embarrassing, on-air meltdown on Monday, October 26. He and Tim Murtaugh, the communications director for the Trump campaign, were discussing the administration’s approach to COVID-19 before the conversation turned sour.
The initial exchange saw Murtaugh present a strong defense of the Trump administration’s handling of COVID-19, mentioning its quick action in implementing the Chinese travel ban. He also noted recent advancements in treatments for the virus and the progress made towards developing a vaccine.
Things got ugly when Murtaugh challenged Cuomo on his brother’s (New York governor Andrew Cuomo) handling of the pandemic, though. The anchor accused Murtaugh of taking a “swing” at him and missing, and asked Murtaugh “are you kidding yourself?” He went on to assert that his brother had not received adequate assistance from President Donald Trump during the pandemic, despite Andrew Cuomo himself stating Trump had “delivered for New York” in April.
This type of behavior is common among commentators and politicians on the Left. Tim Murtaugh deserves kudos for how calmly and professionally he handled the situation.
