Biden’s Press Sec. Exposes Democrat Hypocrisy…

(TheConservativeNews.org) – As President Joe Biden’s administration’s war on words has raged against such readily defined terms as “recession” and “woman,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre furthered the advancement of Orwellian doublespeak in a semantic tug-of-war about the border wall with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy, who pressed back with earlier claims of racism.

On Thursday, Biden once again demonstrated his “America Last” agenda by taking his first meaningful steps toward tackling the border crisis, not out of concern over the ever-increasing detriment to the United States, but over “safety concerns” for the illegal immigrants.

As previously reported, after insisting that former President Donald Trump’s effort to “build the wall” was “divorced from reality” and that not “another foot of wall” would be constructed by his administration, Biden authorized the completion of porous sections of the wall near Yuma, Arizona where four gaps comprise one of the busiest crossings of illegal immigrants from Mexico.

Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre Friday on Biden’s decision to build the wall and she immediately tried to shut him down. “So, we are not — we’re not finishing the wall. We are cleaning up the mess the prior administration left behind in their — in their failed attempt to build a wall.”

Of course, the press secretary disregarded that Trump’s attempts were stymied by Democratic obstruction in Congress and quibbled over $8 billion in funds that the previous president had allocated for American border security while the current administration has authorized more than seven times that amount for the security of Ukraine, but Doocy took a different tact and challenged the White House on Biden’s past statements.

“Biden, when he was a candidate, said, ‘There will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration.’ So, what changed?” he asked.

“We are not finishing the wall,” Jean-Pierre replied as though that were an answer.

“By finishing the wall, is this-” Doocy later tried again as Jean-Pierre interrupted, “We are not finishing the wall.”

“By filling in,” he ultimately landed on after another interruption, “is this — is this racist? Because in 2019, when the former guy was proposing a wall, you said that it was his ‘racist’ wall. So how is this any different? I’m just having a hard time understanding how is this any different.”

“I’m not even sure how you get to your first question to this question that you just asked me. I will say this: A border wall-” she tried, presenting an opportunity for Doocy to interrupt her, “But what’s the difference?”

“I’m answering your question,” Jean-Pierre scolded as she returned to her talking points that singled out Trump. “A border wall is ineffective use of taxpayer dollars. So, it’s ineffective of taxpayer dollars — dollars that actually went to the military that the last administration, the prior president, took from the military, which took away from schools, which took away from military bases. That’s what that money that he pulled away from to build this wall that he wanted — that is ineffective, by the way, which I just said.”

“Just recently, CBP reported that new bollard fencing along the southwest border was breached 3,272 times between fiscal year of 2019 and 2021, requiring $2.6 million in repairs. It’s ineffective,” she claimed again. “We are not finishing a wall; we are cleaning up the mess that the last administration made.”

“If walls work in that part of Arizona,” the Fox News correspondent had attempted earlier in the exchange, “is this — the administration trying to get migrants to cross somewhere else, like in Texas? What — what is the point?”

Doocy’s line of inquiry seemed to follow up on questions from the day before when he had honed in on progressives’ displeasure with illegal immigrants only when the crisis was directly impacting their cities.

“So the White House’s preference would be for small towns in Texas and Arizona to have to take care of these migrants rather than a large metropolitan city like Washington, D.C?” he had asked, leading Jean-Pierre to claim Republicans were using them as a “political ploy.”

The press secretary saw this as her opportunity to further the Biden administration’s policy of blaming anyone but themselves for the troubles they’ve exacerbated Friday.

“We are not finishing a wall. We are cleaning up the mess that the prior administration made. We are trying to save lives,” she said. “This is what is — this is what the prior administration left behind that we are now cleaning up.”
