(TheConservativeNews.org) – Joe Biden’s approach to China is increasingly becoming a worry. Despite the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) atrocious track record on human rights, the president appears determined to keep China as a close ally.
On Wednesday, February 10, the Republican Study Committee released a report detailing Biden’s “weakness” in relation to China. The report looked at the president’s CIA director pick, William Burns, and his links to the CCP.
While he was president of a think-tank called the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Burns installed Zhang Yichen on the board. Zhang has close links to two CCP organizations, and the think-tank took millions of dollars from his business to build a center in Beijing while he was a board member.
While working at the State Department, William Burns was involved in the formation of the shambolic 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, which Biden’s administration intends to resurrect, despite its shortcomings. Toward the end of Trump’s term in the White House, Burns became an outspoken critic of his policies. As a pro-China, anti-conservative figure, Burns will fit perfectly into Biden’s administration; whether his appointment is a good thing for America is another question entirely.
