(TheConservativeNews.org) – Immigration is quickly becoming the defining challenge of President Joe Biden’s first year in the White House. If he doesn’t take effective action to address the growing crisis on our southern border soon, it will leave an indelible mark on his legacy. It appears voters are already beginning to lose patience with the situation.
On Monday, April 5, The Associated Press – NORC Center for Public Affairs Research released a new poll after surveying 1,166 American adults about migration issues. The researchers found that 40% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s handling of the “situation involving unaccompanied children apprehended at the US-Mexico border.” Just 24% of those asked thought he was doing a good job on this issue.
In terms of migration more generally, Biden isn’t faring much better. Only 44% of respondents approve of how he’s handling border security, and just 42% feel he’s doing a good job on immigration overall.
Perhaps most telling of all is the fact only 42% of Democrats thought giving legal status to those in the country illegally should be a high priority. It appears Joe Biden’s ideas are too radical for even his own voters.
