(TheConservativeNews.org) – For the first few months of his term, the growing crisis on our southern border has been President Biden’s biggest challenge. However, the White House seems to be oblivious to the gravity of the situation; other than blaming the problem on Donald Trump, there has been little real engagement in the discussion from Biden’s team.
That may now be changing, however. On Sunday, March 28, Fox News reported that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has issued requests to various government agencies for “volunteer deployments.” Under the terms of the request, civilian employees would assist the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) for periods of up to 120 days, working at facilities for unaccompanied children.
According to an OPM spokesperson, the agency is “actively working” to vet these volunteers while “continuing [their] recruitment efforts.”
It’s good to see the White House finally making a concrete move toward solving this issue. Unfortunately, a mess of the size currently on America’s hands will be difficult to clean up.
