(TheConservativeNews.org) – As expected, the opening moves of Joe Biden’s presidency have attracted strong criticism from many. Even some Democrats are expressing worry about Biden’s policies, particularly his excessively generous COVID-19 relief package.
There has been no shortage of criticism from Conservatives, either. On Monday, January 25, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) described Biden’s initiatives as “America Last policies” during a Fox News interview. He specifically referred to Biden’s plans to double the minimum wage, rejoin the Paris Climate Accord, and revoke the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline.
At a time when unemployment is spiraling out of control because of the pandemic, that last item on the list has sparked particular ire. President Biden halted progress on the Keystone XL pipeline project with an executive order on January 20. Thousands of temporary and permanent jobs will be lost if this policy is not reversed.
The contemporary Democratic focus on environmental policies without regard for their economic drawbacks could cause America significant fiscal difficulties in years to come. Unfortunately, given the party’s dominance in Washington, DC at the moment, it might be difficult to stop them from doing damage.
