Adam Schiff Breaks the Law

The House Select Committee on Wednesday admitted that it had doctored text messages that were cited by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in his attempt to hold former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in contempt.

Reports came out Wednesday that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff has been caught fabricating a text, using characters he claims were written by a Republican lawmaker. The content and tone emphases crafted in this instance are not present within the original text message.  Why did he doctor the text upon reading it aloud as evidence against the supposed misdeeds of Republicans?

The message that Schiff  read aloud was doctored to only say, “On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all.”

The original text message came from former Department of Defense Inspector General Joseph Schmitz, who had drafted and summarized legal arguments that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) forwarded to Meadows. Schiff left out the full exchange, which was actually,  “On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all the electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all.” — in accordance with guidance from founding father Alexander Hamilton and judicial precedent.

‘No legislative act,’ wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 78, ‘contrary to the Constitution, can be valid.’ The court in Hubbard v. Lowe reinforced this truth: ‘That an unconstitutional statute is not a law at all is a proposition no longer open to discussion.’ 226 F. 135, 137 (SDNY 1915), appeal dismissed, 242 U.S. 654 (1916).

Following this rationale, an unconstitutionally appointed elector, like an unconstitutionally enacted statute, is no elector at all.

Schiff omitted the legal basis for rejecting electors.

Schiff has also faked evidence in investigations in the past. In 2019, at the opening hearing of the House Intelligence Committee investigation into President Trump, he faked a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Chip Roy tweeted out, “more distortions coming from Adam Schiff.  Here, from the Jan 6th Committee, coming in the form of doctored J6 Texts Between Mark Meadows And Jim Jordan.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (Az) said, “Expect a lot more of this. Schiff and the contemptible Jan6 committee will twist and smear the narrative every chance they get.”

Alan Dershowitz, a famous liberal defense lawyer with experience in courtrooms from coast-to-coast said Wednesday that Rep. Meadows shouldn’t have been held in contempt until his claims to be constrained by executive privilege had been adjudicated by the federal courts where they are pending.
